Linda O’Brien is a dedicated advocate for the students, families, and broader community of Mentor, Ohio. Linda is deeply committed to integrity, truth, and civic responsibility. Her unwavering dedication to transparency and moral values has made her a respected voice within the community. As a mother and grandmother—one of whom is a student in the Mentor School District—Linda understands firsthand the importance of fostering a high-quality educational environment that empowers all children to succeed.
Linda’s passion for education is best exemplified through her founding of Liberty Camp USA in 2015. This unique reenactment history camp offers school-aged children a hands-on experience in learning about American heritage and foundational values. Due to its overwhelming success, a second location was established in Lake County in 2021. Since its inception, Liberty Camp USA has enriched the lives of nearly 1,500 students. As Founder and Director, Linda remains devoted to cultivating a new generation of engaged and informed citizens.
Beyond her contributions to education, Linda has played an instrumental role in numerous civic initiatives. At the request of Cuyahoga County Commissioners, she worked alongside the Salvation Army to establish a facility that provides food, shelter, and clothing for 400 homeless men. Additionally, her leadership with Rescue Village, an animal welfare organization in Geauga County, was pivotal in raising over $70,000 through community-driven fundraisers. As Project Director for the Cleveland Restoration Festival, Linda collaborated with The Cleveland Foundation to research and develop educational programs that celebrate Cleveland’s rich history.
Linda’s extensive professional experience positions her as a highly qualified candidate for the Mentor School Board. She holds a B.S. in Psychology and Business Administration from Ursuline College and a M.S. in Organizational Development and Analysis from Case Western Reserve University. Throughout her distinguished career, Linda has held executive leadership roles, including Assistant Vice President at Progressive Casualty Insurance Company, Vice President of Human Resources and Administration at Clestra Hauserman, and Group Human Resources Executive for Sajar Plastics, Inc. In 1991, she founded Outsourcing Strategies, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in optimizing human capital and aligning teams with organizational goals. Linda continues to lead the firm as its President, driving strategic growth and operational excellence.
With her wealth of experience, business leadership, and community service, Linda O’Brien is well-equipped to serve as a valued and effective member of the Mentor School Board. Her commitment to student success, ethical governance, and civic engagement will ensure that the district continues to thrive.
